September is the perfect transition month between summer and fall. The oppressive heat has faded away, and you start to notice a slight chill in the air in the mornings and evenings. This most pleasant weather practically begs you to spend a little more time outside, which is why September's Paper Parcel was all about the Great Outdoors.
Nature itself dictated the color combination - the blue of the water, green of the land, and a little woodgrain thrown in for good measure.
Vintage postcards highlighting different but equally beautiful nature landscapes - some from the desert, others from the mountains, and a few overlooking the ocean.
These cards are cute and petite, and used to come in tea packages in the 1950's and 1960's. A mini collection of four tea cards featuring various birds, butterflies, animals, and plants were included in each Paper Parcel.
More wildlife, but this time in the form of stamps that were a part of an animal BINGO card from the 1950's.
Greens and blues popped up in the form of BINGO and lotto game cards in a couple of different designs.
Gorgeous tree images from vintage plant identification books, although the old tree flashcards were one of my favorites from the entire month's collection.
Unused vintage postage stamps in case you want to celebrate forestry on your next card, or wish to teach the recipient a little about water conservation.
Of course there was a collection of vintage playing cards - lots of green and blue, and lots of animals and nature.
September's Paper Parcels were wrapped in woodgrain paper and finished off with brown labels hand labeled with each subscriper's name.
