June's Paper Parcel was centered around one of my favorite activities - strolling the rows of your local farmers' market on a Saturday morning. It provides a chance to be outside and enjoy some fresh air, gives you an opportunity to pick up farm fresh produce and flowers, and allows you to treat yourself to some local artisanal treats.
A vintage vegetable seed packet was a natural fit for the theme, and I was happy to come upon a group of these from the 1920's. The colors are vivid and the condition is incredible considering it's approaching the 100 year mark!
These fruit and vegetable canning labels from the 1940's and 1950's were another easy choice, as were the fruit postage stamps. That orange label is from Dennison and fairly unusual - definitely one of my favorites from this collection.
You're going to need recipes to cook up the produce you pick up so I included a vintage recipe card, and you'll definitely need some cash so I included the prettiest vintage play money I've come across.
Prices are crucial no matter what you're selling so I added a mini collection of vintage price tags in a mix of colors and styles.
These vintage fruit labels were stashed away for decades. Proper storage and a little luck resulted in the labels keeping their bright colors and remaining in excellent condition.
This mini collection of vintage caps covers it all - milk, orange juice, lemonade, and eggs. It's fun to compare the typography and graphics. I'm partial to the mini orange juice cap.
As always, no Paper Parcel is complete without a good selection of vintage playing and game cards. This month was no exception, with a group of fruit, roosters, and farm crops.
Red, orange, and green dominated June's Paper Parcel, and it may even have inspired you to eat a few more fruits and vegetables!
Each month's Paper Parcel is wrapped with a little extra care and attention. June's Paper Parcels were wrapped in a brown kraft bag, adorned with an extra fruit label, and tied with the perfect red gingham fabric.
Paper Parcel subscriptions go on sale on the first of each month. Subscriptions beginning with August's Paper Pack will be available on Tuesday, July 1st at 7am Pacific. Please be sure to check back on Tuesday if you are interested in joining as subscriptions do tend to sell out.
Ready for some new products in the Saturday Morning Vintage shop? Plenty of labels, postcards, ephemera collections, and other fun finds will be added throughout the month of July!
