How is 2012 treating you so far? Amazing, I hope! I thoroughly enjoyed our two week trip back home up to Northern California, but it's also nice to be settling back in San Diego and getting back into some routine. I'm still finalizing my goals for 2012, but wanted to share something fun from the very end of 2011 - the Lovely Package Exchange hosted by Danni of oh, hello friend.
The idea is simple. Danni pairs you up, you exchange a little info, and then send each other a really pretty package. Fun, right? I was thrilled to be paired up with Sara of saratops - a fellow lover of paper! I decided to stick with neutrals for her package because (1) her preferences noted neutrals and (2) I'm really loving kraft/gray/black/white right now.
The box was left over from an earlier Anthropologie purchase and the perfect size for her gifts. I used the same recycled paper strip as I did with my Christmas wrapping, and then added some painted white triangles, brown and gray buttons, and natural string. And tucked inside was:
My package from Sara arrived while I was out of town so it was like an extra Christmas present to open when I returned. I was excited to open the gifts so pardon the less than perfect photos!
Unsurprisingly, I absolutely loved all of the paper pieces and that old wood box. The box has already found a home on top of the shelves that house all of my shipping materials. And a few close of my favorite details in the packaging:
How cute is all of that washi tape, the button attaching the tag to the bag, and map-turned-wrapping paper?
Thanks to Danni for organzing the exchange, and Sara for being such a fun partner! I definitely recommend joining in if/when Danni puts together another round of the Lovely Package Exchange!
