Before I reopened my shop and blog I spent some time thinking about what I was happy with and things I might want to change up. I thought about products and packaging, layouts and designs, and that ever elusive "personal style". One of the ways I tried to nail down my "personal style" was to put together a collage-inspired scrapbook. I pulled out all kinds of papers, flashcards, tags, envelopes, postcards... I approached the project with no rules or limitations in mind - just go with whatever I liked. And here's what I was left with -
Rather than being done with this scrapbook, I feel like it's a good start to a journal to dedicate to my shop. I'll probably document various goals, plans, and lists throughout the book - tucked in envelopes, jotted down on tags, written on the back of postcards, and such. I'm really looking forward to it.
This scrapbook was also where these goodie bags started from. After finishing the pages, I was surrounded by a ton of fun papers that I brought out for this project, but still had left. I tucked a handful into each bag for all of you. Quick reminder - free goodie bag with purchase offer is open through the end of the month. Just be sure to add "still here!" in the "notes to seller" box during checkout.
Sources:
- I used a lot of random supplies for this project, including a lot of scraps. Nothing was purchased with this specific project in mind. If you're looking for the manufacturer of a specific paper or supply, just ask and I'll do my best to figure it out.
- Polaroids are actually the front of greeting cards from Urban Outfitters. I have this set, but a second set has also been released. This second set will likely end up on my Christmas list.
- Vintage photobooth postcards are from Chronicle Books and available here. I definitely recommend, especially since the collection includes 30 postcards for under $10.

I just discovered that Russell+Hazel has smaller binders (7x9) in lots of colors, covered in linen (better than vinyl, right?). I might get one of those.

I love this idea, too, and I am so glad I came to the comments, because I was wondering this same question! Office Max and Office Depot both have smaller binders close to this size, but they don't have the lived-in, vintage feel (too much vinyl and plastic), but I'm thinking about getting one to see if I can do something to make it look better. I have to admit that I come back to this post quite a bit as inspiration for mini-albums. I love your style, Xenia, and now that I have one of your awesome vintage paper packages, I think I must do something like this. You are a genius. Thanks for being an inspiration!

Hi Rachel - I used a vintage binder that previously held lined paper. The binder itself measures about 6.5" x 8.75", and the pages inside are 5.5" x 8.5". It was a fun size to work with - plenty of room to play with, but not so much that it's overwhelming.

Love this idea. What size of binder did you use here? Thanks!
